The 2016 St. Louis Metro Section spring workshop is about going green.
In a unique partnership, the St. Louis Regional Chamber and the Missouri Botanical Garden offers the St. Louis Green Business Challenge. Businesses that take the Challenge self-evaluate and implement actions that are intended to optimize performance, cost-benefits, and engagement in line with each company's goals and culture. In 2015 the Challenge teamed up with OneSTL to pilot the Green Cities Challenge, a hybrid of program offerings designed to meet the needs of local governments.
Greening Your City is designed around the Green Cities Challenge. Expert presenters in afternoon workshops will inform you about practical methods for implementing green practices in planning departments and other city agencies. Evening plenaries include a keynote presentation from Lynn Richards, President and CEO of the Congress for New Urbanism; a conversation with the cities that participated in the 2015 Green Cities Challenge; and the 2016 SLMS Awards Presentation.
