Description: The practice of short-term/vacation rental of residential property has recently exploded in popularity and appears to be here to stay. This program will discuss the challenges associated with defining and regulating the various types of short-term/vacation rentals, including: a review of St. Louis County and Maplewood municipal regulations of short-term rentals, efforts by the Missouri legislature to limit municipal regulations, and tips for drafting legislation that will comply with proposed state law. Anthony Traxler graduated from Edwardsville High School in Edwardsville, Illinois. He received his bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois and his master’s degree in Public Administration and Policy Analysis from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, where he graduated with honors and received the Leo Cohen Award in Urban Management.
Anthony has worked in the Planning Departments for the cities of Champaign, IL, Chesterfield and Maryland Heights and served as the Assistant to the City Administrator for the City of Frontenac. Anthony worked for the City of Maplewood as Assistant City Manager/Zoning Administrator/City Clerk for five years, left to serve as City Administrator for Columbia, IL for four years and came back to Maplewood to serve as Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Works for the past eight years.
Anthony is married to wife Theresa, who works as a project manager for AT&T. Theresa and Anthony have a son Ben, who is 14 and daughter Layne, who recently turned 10.

Cindy graduated with honors from The Florida State University College of Law in 2006. She studied in the school’s Environmental, Energy, and Land Use Program, which was ranked as the 14th best environmental law program in the nation, and was a member of the Florida State Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law, ranked in the nation’s top twenty environmental law journals. She has been an associate attorney with Restovich & Associates, llc since 2011.
Cindy continues to dedicate herself to land use law by serving as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Ellisville, with primary responsibility for matters pertaining to land use and zoning. She has worked with the City Planner to implement zoning regulations that have fostered modern and integrative growth of the community. Cindy also assists with Council, administrative, and litigation matters for the City.
